Abstract This study sought to investigate if there was any effect of child upbringing and
husband support on the spousal adjustment of married women in southern Nigeria. Two
(2) research questions were raised and two (2) hypotheses guided the study. An ex-post
facto research design was employed in this study. A total sample of 1,582 married women
was selected through a multi-stage sampling procedure as a sample size from an
estimated population of 3, 346, 632 married women from the southern part of the
country as stated in the 2015 Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) register.
Findings revealed that a significant positive relationship existed between child
upbringing and Spousal adjustment of married women in southern Nigeria. It was
recommended amongst others that the government, married couples, intending couples,
and society at large, should be enlightened on the importance of spousal adjustment in
facilitating harmonious family life and by extension, proper societal functioning.

Abstract This paper examined youth empowerment, wealth creation and
security as key to national development. The paper was guided by
three objectives viz-a-viz; finding out how the empowerment of youth
enhances national development, determining how wealth creation in
the country is capable of enhancing national development and
examining the role security play in entrenching national development.
Reviews of literature were carried out in line with the objectives of
the study using secondary data as method of data collection. The
paper concluded that youth empowerment, wealth creation and
national security enhance a nation’s positive and sustainable
development. The paper suggested that government should make
youth empowerment and wealth creation process in the country
seamless so that majority of her unemployed youth can key into the
scheme to uplift self and enhance national development. Also, the
government should make national security a priority at all times. This
is because without adequate security in the country, the zeal to be
creative will be discouraged, investment will be limited, thus making
development of the country to be stagnated as interested persons and
organizations will be scared to invest.

Abstract The study surveyed teachers' perception of the use of Social Studies concepts in conflict management. The study was a descriptive survey research. Thirty-one Social Studies teachers from sixteen public secondary schools in Sapele, Delta State were sampled. The main instrument was the teacher made test. The data collected were analysed using the t-test statistic. The result showed that female and male teachers generally accepted that Social Studies concepts could be used to manage conflict. Teachers' acceptance that Social Studies concepts could be used in conflict management was found not to depend on experience. The study recommended that desirable Social Studies concepts such as unity, honesty, co-operation, love, peace, tolerance, and patriotism should be encouraged by teachers among students and that the content of Social Studies should include the study of national and international conflicts and its effects on human population.
