Abstract The study investigated the use of mother tongue and gender as determinants of students' attitudes towards entrepreneurship education (EE) in higher education institutions (HEIs) using the Faculty of Education, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Nigeria as a case study. The objective was to determine the relationship between the use of the mother tongue, gender, and students' attitude toward entrepreneurship education. Two hypotheses were formulated to serve as a guide to the study. Three hundred (300) Alex Ekwueme Federal University students were randomly selected for the study. A questionnaire titled ‘“Use of mother tongue scale and students’ attitude towards entrepreneurship education”’ questionnaire was administered and used for data collection. The hypotheses were tested using multiple regression tested at a 0.05 level of significance. Findings revealed that the criterion variable (students' attitude towards entrepreneurship education correlated positively and low towards the use of the mother tongue. Also, gender was not a determinant factor in both students' attitudes towards entrepreneurship educationand the use of the mother tongue. The results also showed that only students with knowledge of the use of the mother tongue with the regressional coefficient (b) of .258, and a beta weight of .592 significantly have a good attitude towards entrepreneurship education, while gender was not a significant factor in predicting students’ attitude towards entrepreneurship education. Based on these findings, some recommendations were made which include, but are not limited to, that students should be encouraged to be knowledgeable on the use of their mother tongue, understand, speak, and use their mother tongue, irrespective of gender. The university should encourage the use of the mother tongue in entrepreneurship education.

Abstract Abstract:
Entrepreneurship education (EE) has been viewed as a crucial tool for a country's economic growth. Every country in the world attempts to develop and strengthen its economy by considering all available options. Nations are attempting to or have already implemented the teaching and learning of EE in schools in response to the discovery of EE as a tool for economic development. In higher education institutions (HEIs) in Nigeria, entrepreneurial education has been offered as a field of study, discipline, or area of expertise. Researchers currently criticise the way EE is learned at colleges and universities for a variety of reasons, such as the use of generalist teachers, the dearth of adequate teaching materials, the inadequate financing of EE programmes, the low rate of graduates choosing entrepreneurship as a career, and more. Additionally, higher education students in Nigeria have not received appropriate orientation towards the value of EE for their present, future, families, and general well-being. Additionally, it has been noted that the context-free methodology used in Nigeria's colleges and universities to teach EE makes it challenging for students to comprehend. The scope of this paper is mainly on pedagogy and not necessarily on policy. Therefore, this paper examines a definition of EE that is focused on Nigeria, the objectives of EE with a focus on its learning and teaching in HEIs, the environment for EE teaching and learning in HEIs, how EE teaching and learning can be improved, and EE teaching and learning. Some suggestions and recommendations are equally flagged.

Abstract The study examined the extent of drug abuse among secondary school students, hence this study.
The study was conducted to determine the extent of drug abuse among secondary school students
in Delta North senatorial district, Delta State. Three research questions and three null-hypotheses
were postulated to guide the study. The descriptive research design was adopted for the study. The
population of the study consisted of 7712 (seven thousand, seven hundred and twelve) SS2
students in the Secondary Schools in Delta North senatorial district. The sample consisted of 698
(six hundred and ninety-eight) SS 2 students. A disproportionate stratified random sampling
technique and the simple random sampling technique were used for the study. A three cluster
researcher’s designed questionnaire which was titled (EDASSSQ) was the instrument used for
data collection. The instrument was validated by three experts; two from the Department of Social
Science Education and one from Measurement and Evaluation of Delta State University, Abraka.
Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions while Mann-Whitiney
and Wilcoxon statistics were used in testing the null hypothesis at 0.05 level of significant. The
result of the study showed that alcoholic drinks including beer were the most abused drug among
both the male and female secondary school students and that the male and female students abuse
codeine, kaikai, cigarette, kola-nut, coffee, and marijuana respectively. Finally, it was
recommended among others that secondary schools’ students who suffer one form of drug-related
illness should be taken to rehabilitation centers for treatment, clubs should be established in the
secondary schools and such clubs should be inviting medical resource persons to teach the
students about drug abuse and ways of quitting drug intake, government should formulate policies
that will include punishing students engaged in drug abuse and even individuals that aid and abate
students in drug abuse like people that sell cigarettes to under-aged people and so on .

Abstract This study examined teachers? retraining opportunities and job effectiveness in public secondary
school in Delta State. Three research questions and three null hypotheses guided the study. The
study adopted a correlational design. The population of the study was 673 teachers and principals
of the public senior secondary schools in Ika North East and Ika South LGAs of Delta State. This
comprises 33 principals and 640 teachers. The sample of the study is 220 principals and teachers
in the study area. The multistage sampling technique was adopted in selecting the sample. Two
sets of self-structured questionnaire title “Teachers? Retraining Opportunities Questionnaire”
(TROQ) and “Job Effectiveness Questionnaire” (JEQ) were used in the collection of data from the
respondents. The instruments were validated by three experts two in Social Studies Education and
one from Measurement and Evaluation, Delta State University, Abraka. A test of internal
consistency was adopted in establishing the reliability of the instrument. Reliability indexes of
0.81, 0.85 and 0.79 were obtained for the three clusters of the instrument. The data collected were
analysed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation coefficient. The findings the study revealed
that there is a positive relationship between teachers retraining opportunities such as PGDE,
workshops and mentoring and teachers job effectiveness in public secondary schools in Ika North
East and Ika South LGAs of Delta State. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended
among others that the State Ministry of Education should come up with a policy that would
require all teachers in government secondary schools who do not have their first degree in
Education to enroll for a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education. This would enhance their
effectiveness in teaching to a high extent.

Abstract This theoretical paper explores the role of theoretical perspectives in questionnaire design, aiming to improve data quality and research outcomes in social studies research. It examines the significance of questionnaire design in understanding human behaviour and decision-making, and its potential contributions to research practices. The paper examines classical theories like cognitive dissonance and contemporary models like implicit attitudes, focusing on understanding belief systems and their cognitive, social, and cultural influences. It also discusses strategies for identifying relevant dimensions of attitudes and beliefs and addressing response biases to improve data accuracy. The paper also emphasizes the linkage of theories to measurement constructs, ensuring content validity by mapping theoretical concepts to questionnaire items. Practical implications are demonstrated through item wording, scale development, and piloting. Ethical considerations, such as informed consent, anonymity, and avoiding harm, are explored to ensure participants' rights and well-being. Cultural and contextual adaptation is also highlighted, as are appropriate modes of administration to maximize response rates and data quality. This theoretical analysis provides valuable insights for psychometricians, researchers, and psychologists in constructing questionnaires that effectively capture attitudes and beliefs. By integrating theoretical perspectives, researchers can enhance the validity and reliability of their data, leading to a deeper understanding of attitudes and beliefs in various research contexts. The study also identifies future research directions and innovations in questionnaire design methodologies to continually improve attitude and belief measurement practices.

Abstract The social studies teacher is a key factor in
implementing the social studies
curriculum. Appraising the social studies
teacher's practice and implementation
strategies in schools is paramount. The
study seeks to assess how school-based
assessment (SBA) is practised and
implemented in the Nigerian school system
to identify the challenges social studies
teachers encounter in practice and
implementation to proffer solutions to the
challenges. The population for the study
consisted of six thousand (6000) Junior
Secondary School (upper basic education
level schools)social studies teachers in
Delta and the Imo States. Sixty (60) Junior
Secondary Schools and thirty (30) from
each State were selected. Using the
proportionate stratified random sampling
techniques, fifteen (15) junior secondary
school social studies teachers were drawn
from each school, bringing the sample size
to 900 social studies teachers. The
instrument was designed using the
modified four-point Likert scale, and
experts validated content in measurement
and evaluation and social studies
education. The Rulon formula obtained a
reliability coefficient of 0.88.
Three research questions were answered
using mean and standard deviation, while
three hypotheses were tested with
independent t-test statistics at a 5%
probability level. The results showed that:
Firstly, the male social studies teachers
were better equipped than their female
counterparts in the practice and
implementation of school-based
assessment. Secondly, the trained social
studies teachers in assessment techniques
performed better than their untrained
counterparts in assessment and
implementation of school-based
assessment (SBA). Third, social studies
teachers in urban schools performed better
than their counterparts in the rural areas
in the practice and implementation of
school-based assessment. Therefore, the
researcher recommended pre-service and
in-service training for female social studies
teachers, untrained social studies teachers
and social studies teachers in rural areas
in assessment and implementation
technique test construction. Proper
monitoring by the appropriate agencies for
effective and goal-oriented results and
regular inspection of assessment materials,

Abstract The study aimed at identifying the adequacy of value components of social studies curriculum instruction in stemming corruption in the Nigerian society through effective values inculcation in the learners in junior secondary schools in Nigeria. The population is made up of all the sandwich social studies teachers of the University of Port-Harcourt. A sample of 150 final year students of the 2011 contact session of
University of Port-Harcourt was used. There was no sampling because of the concise population of the respondents who are
teachers from different states of Nigeria. Five research questions guided the study. The research questions were answered using frequencies and percentages. Results mainly
showed that the value composition of the junior secondary schools social studies curriculum was inadequate and poor
teaching strategies of lecture indoctrinating method was
principally used in inculcating values. On this note, it was recommended among others that the value composition of the
social studies curriculum should be consistently enriched. Social studies teachers should be professionally trained on
value development process, in order to effectively use social studies instruction in inculcating positive attitudes as a check against endemic corruption in Nigeria. Conclusion was drawn based on crucial overview of emerging issues in the study.

Abstract In contemporary times, a lot of career women are venturing into business
maintain and sustain their standards of living and that of their various families. In fact,
career women in recent times prefer entreprencurship to active professional participation.
This is because of the poor salary and allowance structures and the delay in the review of
salaries and allowances of most professional career workers. Issues of gender are beginning
1o take centre stage in the Nigerian society. And whenever gender and its corresponding
concepts are discussed, one realizes that people tilt towards supporting any struggle that has
10 do with the female gender. Concepts like career woman, feminism, lesbianism, girl-child
education, motherhood, widowhood, queenship, female traditional title installation and so on
keep coming up. The Nigerian people forget that gender is made up of male and female. The sympathy for the female gender has always dominated any discussion on gender. Gender and transformative leadership are trending especially among academics when it comes to appointment of females into leadership of tertiary institutions of learning especially in Nigeria — Vice-Chancellors for Universities, provosts for college of education and rectors for polytechnics. This is really a problem in the Nigerian context but fortunately, the entry of
women into businesses or better put, entreprencurship has increased tremendously. The
challenge is that majority of these women in entrepreneurship endeavours are not career
women and hence do not possess transformative leadership skills/abilities. By so doing,
expansion in business becomes a huge problem. The career women prefer maintaining whitecollar jobs-seeing business as double stress and a venture for the uneducated women. But is
this perception true? Career women only earn salaries and allowances that in most cases are
not enough for their up keep and that of their family members. Females that feel the negative
impact more are those that are bread winners of their various families. This is the importance
of venturing into business even if you are female lawyer, medical doctor, tertiary education
lecturer, banker and so on. Entrepreneurship brings supplementary source(s) of survival
(income). This paper is interested in unraveling the place of the career woman in
entrepreneurship and how transformative leadership abilities can impact on enterprise.

patriarchal system. poor public perception of women in politics, zero sum nature of politics in Nigeria and absence of a deep democratic
structure, amongst others. Against these findings, some
recommendations were made. Support network and prospective role
models; Through the identification of aspirants and pairing them with established women politicians; Playing a mentoring role and providing capacity building training to young or aspiring female politicians:
Building a Coalition of NGOs and Grassroots women associations that coordinate the support and advocacy for women aspivants; Creative
environment that allows women to engage in decision making processes in a sustainable and effective way free from political harassment and violence; and Establishment of legal funds to enable women politicians 1o challenge electoral malpraciices. Finally, there is the need to identify and engage relevant stake holders such as the Independent National Electoral Commission and political parties in introducing quota for women in the democratic process.

Abstract Abstract
There is room for innovations at every given point in time including in the financial management of educational institutions. Innovative funding models are contemporary funding models explored and used in effective and efficient financial maintenance of an institution. This institution can be educational, financial, religious, business, and so on. This study examined the influence of innovative funding models on administration of secondary schools in Imo State. Two research questions guided the study while two hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population for the study was 297 principals which comprised 83 males and 214 females. There was no sampling procedure because the population was manageable. The questionnaire used for data collection was a 15-item structured titled <Innovative Funding Models on Effective Administration of Secondary Schools Questionnaire (IFMEASSQ)". The questionnaire was validated by three research experts, two experts in Educational Management from the Department of Social Science Education and one expert in Measurement and Evaluation unit of Department of Educational Foundations, all from Faculty of Education, Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri. Cronbach Alpha statistic was used to compute the internal consistency of the instrument which yielded .83 and .8I for clusters 1 and 2 with an overall reliability index of.82 which indicates th?t the instrument was reliable. The research questions were answered using mean and standard deviation while the hypotheses were tested with t-test statistic. The findings of the study showed that community involvement and corporate sponsorships influence the administration of secondary education in Imo State to a great extent. Based on the findings, the study recommended that Imo State government should create attractive policies that would enhance massive participations of individuals and corporate bodies in the funding administration of secondary schools.

Abstract A theoretical framework for quantifying and
assessing gender and sexuality education outcomes is
presented in this research article. The goal of the study
is to improve our understanding of the effects of
gender and sexuality education programmes by
addressing the dearth of thorough measurement
techniques in this subject. Based on a critical analysis
of the body of literature, the theoretical framework is
built, referencing feminist, queer, and social learning
theories. Knowledge acquisition, attitude and
behaviour modification, and empowerment are among
the critical dimensions for assessment that are
recognised, along with the connections among these
constructs. The framework's implications and
applications are examined, emphasising how they
might direct educational practice, assist professional
development for educators, and inform the creation of
policies and programmes. Future research and practice
recommendations are given, with a focus on the
necessity of intersectionality integration, thorough
measurement and evaluation systems, and continued
stakeholder collaboration and knowledge exchange.
The research's conclusions and suggestions support
evidence-based methods, more inclusive and
successful educational opportunities, and the
advancement of the area of gender and sexuality
education
